This is why the feng shui guy is the best he uses WHAT YOU have!! And maybe some supplemental stuff but not a full redesign

I love your content and I’ve watched for a while. While watching this, the only thing I could think is that this isn’t a design choice, but a budget choice. I understand what you’re trying to do here but the reality is, especially currently, many people can’t afford their bills and they’re absolutely not affording west elm sofas and pottery barn kids activity tables for their kids. Maybe use things that could by DIY’ed or bought from Target, Walmart, Amazon. I know pieces you invest in (especially couches and case goods) is worth it in the long run, but it’s just not practical for the average person watching YT shorts but giving ideas that are actually attainable would be beneficial.

I love all of this. Now do it on a budget of $200

No it looks like she has kids and a budget. You know how expensive those floor to ceiling cabinets would be?! There is a love seat and no curtains. This is a living room on a budget, not because it was poorly planned lol… like most people.

Average people furnish their house little by little acquiring things as time goes on. If they had the budget for all this they would have done it

Girl what? You realize this person's home looks like this because they couldnt afford all this mess, right? This is just a lived-in home.

Bruh wtf is this shit😂 idk if people send you pics and ask you to do this or if you just find some lower class family and assume they can afford an entire living room remodel/refurnishing. It’s absurd either way due to the outcome. Show them how to utilize WHAT THEY HAVE.

This is great if you are decorating for someone with money. As someone who grew up poor, all our furniture was free from marketplaces online and as someone with a decorating education, the best iption is to help them find furniture from thrift shops and 2nd hand and working with what they can afford. I guarntee the ceiling wallpapee is already above budget

I love your ideas, but unless you know wood working a custom built cabinet like that is going to cost a few 1000 dollars. Add in the rug, lighting and other decor and it quickly adds up. Sometimes it’s not that people don’t know the fix, it’s the lack of funds.

This feels like talking to the out of touch friend who grew up with money… “you have too much clutter? Just call a contractor to have cabinets custom made, it’s only a few thousand dollars and it will completely solve your problem! ☺️😘”

1. You messed up with the dimensions, the couch is way to big for beeing this far back
2. Those furnitures are expensive and not findable in thrifstores
3. Some bins in the corner would do the trick no need for an total makeover

It’s crazy how not only does she want a complete redesign which is obviously out of their budget and lifestyle, but she also wants a whole new aesthetic that doesn’t go with anything

It would be impressive if u used what they already had to rearrange or used a very small budget. This just seems like sims with the motherload cheat

😂 yeah 👍 that design screams I have money.
But reality screams I don't have that money and I rent.

Because the previous set up suggested she had thousands of extra dollars to throw into the mix.

Also you notice - that person probably doesn’t have a lot to spend on furniture. And you’re building her a whole expensive wall of closets - which is also too overbearing for such a small room. The cubbies will also look really weird, once the kids are out of their toddler phase.

Oh, yeah….clearly this is the home of someone with a bunch of cash burning a hole in their pocket. 🙄 The idea that anyone would take advice from someone this far detached. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was in my mid 30’s when I was diagnosed as ADHD. It was a huge puzzle piece I was missing. I am fortunate that I’m a woodworker so I can custom build a lot of personalized storage for myself, but the designing around my habits part of it has been huge. I need a drop zone inside the door of each room which has been some sort of side table with a movable bin/tray because I know I need the visual cue when the bin is full to move it around the room to put things away… it’s the laundry hamper in the kitchen by the stairs (townhouse with laundry in basement) so I remember to grab the dirty kitchen linens on my way to do a load of laundry. It’s having organization at the front door that is not the standard normal for everyone else, but has made me organized in the front entryway for the first time in my whole life that works for me. And yes, some stuff I use is from second hand websites and stores. It’s puzzling out what I really need to get the organization to work and then make it pretty. Even if it’s just a label maker that I like the font of that fits my style so everything can be labeled on the outside.
