One thing I noticed when I travel to Scotland is how proud everyone is to be Scottish. You see the Scotland flag in most places. It's nice to see

It amazes my over the years just how little a few Scots understand about the what each country brings to each other and also just what the UK government pays for in Scotland, however that said as I am English first and British second just as they are Scottish first and British second but I am extremely proud to have friends and fellow proud people in Scotland and equally Wales, we are a nation of difference which gives us a unique nation amongst the world.
Be proud of your heritage and be proud of our joint nation.

For a Scot to state that Scotland is a "colony" after their king moved south to become King of England too, forming the Kingdom of Great Britain, is so ignorant. Never mind that Scots were overwhelmingly involved in British colonialist projects and empire building. So tired of everyone playing the victim card. Own up to your people's history, we've all done good and bad things.

As an Indian, I don’t know much about this topic (nor is there any reason for me to get involved - I don’t even know why this video was recommended to me), however w.r.t. the Scottish gentleman saying that Scotland was treated like India, or any other colony:

Scots were disproportionately employed by the British/English in the civil services. They played a huge role in oppressing the colonised people of India etc. You’d be surprised to see how many ‘hill stations’ and other places there are in India that are named after a Scottish person (hint: we didn’t do it willingly).

So while Scotland may have also been ‘colonised’, we are not the same bro lol

French rule in Canada was ended by Scottish soldiers and Scottish settlers dominanted large parts of Canada. The names Fraser, MacKenzie and MacDonald are everywhere in Canada. Towns, streets, rivers etc
