It is a shame that formal nights are disappearing. That is one event I always looked forward to on cruises because it is always a treat to become dolled-up and wear my formals that are otherwise hanging in my closet for years. 👗👠👛 (Besides, I become tired of wearing casual clothes every day. as I work from home, and my so old calendar is sparse.) Our last three cruises have been Viking, which does not offer formal nights. It is a shame because I otherwise enjoy Viking for its unique (and included) spa experience, its staff members who treat you like royalty and its enriching lectures and activities. If Viking has formal nights, it would easily be the perfect cruise line. Solution: on my next Viking Cruise, I will dress as if it were formal night, and I won’t care if I stick out like a sore thumb.
