Nikon Z6 III :: It's Outstanding

The Nikon Z6 III is the long awaited camera in Nikon's mirrorless system. The new camera features a all new, partially stacked CMOS sensor which enables a host of features that were previously not possible on 24 megapixel sensors because of the slower speed readouts. You can shoot 20fps burst speed raw files and 6K video up to 60p with no crop.

On my channel you will find videos about photography, cinematography, post processing tutorials for Capture One, Lightroom and Photoshop, photo assignments that YOU can participate in, the Artist Series and more. The Artist Series is an ongoing set of videos I produce as documentaries on living photographers. I am extremely passionate about photography and video and my goal in making these videos is to share my passion and enthusiasm with you! This is the camera we (Z6II users) have been waiting for!! As someone who prefers the Z6II body size for full time photography, this is a MASSIVE WIN. I’ve used the Z 9, Z 8, Z f and I ALMOST settled for the Z f because of how good the AF and low-light was. The Z 6III just take the distance! Well done, Nikon!

It’s really great to see Nikon is properly back.

Can't take people serious that are disappointent with this camera. This thing is the best in class at everything and above competitors with it's performance in photo and video mode. The price will come down over time or there will be a trade-in or cash-back. Too much complains about nothing.

I was waiting for this camera for like a year. Pre ordered!

Not me, I've been around too long to be constantly hit by G.A.S., and one thing I know from experience, for me it's best to wait a few months after a product comes out before making up my mind. In addition, it will also pay off much better for me to have ice in my stomach, and wait for between one or two years before I buy. Because then the price is usually more reasonable, and you also know a little more about the faults/cons via several others serious photographers who are not paid by Nikon or are fanboys, because then it is easier to make the right decision 😉

at 2:30 you show bird detection. Is this from a Z8 or 9 since I dont think the 6iii has that? It's under Animal.

I think it’s time for me to upgrade from my Z6 to this z6iii!

On 2:31 you are showing subject detection that has bird subject recognition. I just purchase my camera in store. No such subject detection.
Any comments on this?

The ZF has been what I've been thinking about getting, but I'd love to see you compare it to the Z6III.

I'm coming from the z6 this will be awesome for me. And the EVF as having old man eyes will really help me focus .I should get mine tomorrow.

Amazingly well done video, as always. The question is the one you posed at the end: a head to head with the ZF and Z6III would be super helpful. Be well, and thank you!

yeah but DX crop on a z6iii 24mp takes you to 10mp compared to the z8 in DX 19mp and if you want to make big prints the 19mp will result in better results on paper

I would like to see somebody test the video. Duration and heating. The lumix has the internal fans virtually eliminating overheating. How does Nikon compare?

Oh man!!! I really can’t decide here. What to do!!!!

I recently got a Nikon Zf and was looking to aquire a second backup body, that's affordable and takes my Z mount lenses. Honestly, I’ve been leaning towards the Nikon Z6II, but with the recent price drops the Z6III is not much more and is appealing also. However, if I sell the Zf, I could get the Z6III and more Nikon glass. Likely the 35mm, to round out my triad (Currently have 85, 50).

I love my Zf, but I can’t decide. Sell & get the Z6III + a lens or keep & get a Z6II and have Zf + Z6 II?

I shoot portraits, headshots, and occasionally a family session. My camera pays part of my rent.

What would you do?

Waiting for your Zf 1 year review, Ted. 😊

I bought the z6iii just before Christmas specifically for the bird detection. In your video you mentioned that there were 9 detection modes. Well, now that I have the camera in hand, there are only 5 detection modes, and no bird detection. I have uploaded the latest firmware patch 1.02 and it's included on the update. I wonder when we can expect it to be available. I'm disappointed as I was hoping to use it for the bald eagle season which has arrived.

Thank you for the beautiful video. I have a Nikon D850. Do you recommend upgrading to the Z 6 III or choosing the Z8?

Im not video shooter, and now not a Nikon user, although a bit of a brand fan from the past. I think if I was to switch (now on Panasonic just for the street value of their kit deals) I would get the Z6 II or Zf and a Lens. Do you think the improvements in the non video features are enough?

it showed that in the preproduction model you have here had bird detection which is not in the production models

Do you think an L Bracket would be an useable option? I see Right Stuff has them for sale on EBay..
I am upgrading from the Z6, & enjoyed the L Bracket, but not sure if it will be a good option with the new articulating screen? Thanks, Ken in AZ🌵
