Does refined sugar cause diabetes? Is sugar the main cause of obesity? In this video, Robby and Cyrus talk about the connection between refined sugars and obesity, as well as the direct connection between refined sugars and diabetes.

Here's the conversation:

- Why it's not straightforward whether "sugar" can cause obesity and diabetes
- Obesity, diabetes, and refined sugar intake - links and risks
- Does insulin resistance increase your risk of obesity?
- Does obesity increase your risk of developing insulin resistance?
- Is it true that refined sugar consumed in a low-fat environment actually improved insulin sensitivity?
- A low fat plant-based diet is your best source of calories

Research and information are a lot to take in. And there's no doubt you know what healthy nutrition looks like. You know your diet should be rich in natural sugars and not in processed foods. Can you explain how Dr Kempner cured type 2 with white rice and white sugar?

Walter Kempner is rolling on his grave right now. The contradiction is just appalling.

As a T1D I'm using refined sugar in my energy drink during endurance sport (road cycling 3 - 10 hours) to keep my blood sugar levels stable. I find this easier to microdose with regularly and also easier on the stomach. As long as my bloodsugar is under control, could refined sugar still has a negative long side effect on my diabetes, organs or body in general? A lot of endurance athletes talk about hi carb lo fat plant based and tend to consume a lot of refined sugars.

I am wondering...mostly i eat dinner with whole grain breads etc and if i eat just a little bit of chocholate....so basically i am not eating ONLY sugar, there is many other nutrients, vit, minerals etc. So technically it should not effect me in a bad way...or i am wrong?

It is confusing. I think you need to be straight to explain. Is it okay to use Jaggery??

There is nothing wrong with plain pasta. Why did you lump pasta in with all those other bad foods? Only if it has a lot of oil or worse dairy or animal fat is it bad.
