Where I live in Washington state, a hot summer day is in the 90s. It still drops into the 50s at night. Slow growing for most stuff. Expecting first frosts in mid-October. I have celtuce and cabbage sprouted on a shelf in my bathroom right now, and planning on a bunch more.

It is definitely satisfying to grow your own celery! We grew our own last fall/winter (zone 8b) and it did well.

I'm still planting beans and cucumbers here in Illinois. I'll plant fall broccoli in August.

Old Man Jeff here.
Got my Red Snapper seeds yesterday and got 32 in the ground, can’t wait to see my second tomato harvest this year
Thanks for the quick service and shipping.
Think I’m going to have the wife order me another pack in case we gather an early spring in Arkansas.

So could I direct seed in the ground in mid August and get the same results?

I need to know varieties of tomatoes that are heat tolerant for here in north Alabama please. All of mine have suffered this summer. My Hossinator handled the heat. However it was the only one that had blossom end rot.

Hi Greg I got a question I got 50 of the blue mineral tubs from a coworker who has a big cattle farm, I washed them out good or thought I did, I planted tomatos and bells in them and they either withered and died or just did terrible, is there something I should have done or is there something in those mineral tubs that could have caused this? Or am I just having a bad year with these?
