In the DBS Broly movie, Gogeta states that Goku and Vegeta’s power levels weren’t just mushed together, but they were significantly magnified as well. In that aspect, we can for now say that the fusion dance is more powerful than potara, since we don’t know if the potara has the same effect. In addition, potara seems to last less depending on how much power is used, while the fusion dance lasts for the set time no matter what, making it an ultimately better alternative.

Fusion Dance requires the two fighters to be in perfect balance at the time of fusion. This includes synchronizing movements and power levels.
Potara will fuse any two fighters with no prerequisites.
Both create the same result but Potara has a 100% success rate while Fusion Dance depends solely on the execution.

Potara should be quite a bit stronger than the fusion dance.
Elder kai, the Daizenchuu, Chozenchuu, the DB fact files, and the Dragon Books all say Potara is greater than fusion, the DBS Broly promotional materiel is referring to how fusing into Gogeta/Vegito are equally valid responses to a dire situation rather than saying they are equal in power, also Vados' statement doesn't contradict the super exciting guide, 10s of times doesn't mean its below 100 times especially since (in the manga) Vegito in base was stronger than Blue Goku.
That's my reasoning.

IIRC, I think it was only stated in the DB Super anime with regards to the Fusion Multiplier, but then we have "DB Super: Broly" where Gogeta says otherwise compared to what Vados stated in the Tournament of Power where their strengths are not just added together, it's significantly greater compared to saying "tens of times" or "dozens of times" depending on the sub or dub you follow.
I still think it's "A × B = C" since they still used the Super Saiyan Multiplier logic in the anime where Goku went from SSG to SSGSS as Kefla went from a normal Saiyan to Super Saiyan, since Super Saiyan Blue is a "Super Saiyan God going Super Saiyan, " which is a 50× boost on top of it. Otherwise, it would be contradictive with regards to previous statements or logic, even if you think it's a "retcon."

As far as I know:
Potara: A + B x 100
Fusion Dance: A + B x 100
But with the Fusion Dance both Fighters gotta be at equal power.
And with Potara both can be at whatever powerlevel.
I'm not sure tho.

Honestly I think it’s the same level of power output, it’s just the fusion dance is shorter in time than potara

This is a huge nerf so basically fusion multiplier+ ssj is weaker than ssg on one of the fuses
In Broly movie, SSJ Gogeta rawdogged SSJ Broly until he evolved into green hair, this Broly rawdogged SSB Goku and Vegeta casually even when they combined Galick and Kamehameha, yet Gogeta effortlessly smashed a stronger growing Broly.
So by logic, SSJ Goku + SSB Vegeta Kamegalick gun

I'm glad you admit Potara is stronger.
I actually think SSj3 is not really 4x SSj2 anymore (or ever was). It never made sense to be that much stronger when Majin Vegeta was already almost strong enough to kill Fat Buu, and Goku SSj3 was only moderately stronger but still struggled against Fat Buu at times; against Kid Buu, Goku's SSj3 did no better than his SSj2. Gotenks SSj1 was already at least par with Fat Buu (Goku said a fighter even stronger than him would appear. A bluff?), that means an even stronger post chamber Gotenks is over 8x stronger than earlier (SSj3 = 4xSSj2 aka 8xSSj1) aka likely 12-16x stronger, and Gohan would be stronger than that...and Goku is somehow then somehow around Gohan's levelish?
No, no way SSj3 is 8xSSj1.
So I think it's more like:
SSj3 = 3x SSj1
SSj2 = 2x SSj1
SSj3 = 1.5x SSj2

Goku and Vegeta were equal in Power in DBS Broly hense they didn't need to match their power or ki so it was just as strong as Potara and with a longer time frame, in SSGSS the potara only last 10 minutes while the Fusion dance lasts a fixed 30 minutes
