The Rolling Stones! ❤️ If you haven’t heard Under My Thumb by them you should give it a listen. There’s just something about that song that grabs me.

Three years ago my daughter chose “She’s a Rainbow” for her introduction song for her high school homecoming court entrance introduction!!
Amber you react how I react after hearing this song a thousand times!! Your intuition is incredibly spot on!!! As 1970’s hippies how Amber is dancing is exactly how we we’re dancing in The 70’s!!
Side note my 20yr old hippie daughter dances the same way as she drives off in her VW Beetle!!!

You should definitely check out Ruby Tuesday, perhaps the greatest psychedelic era song by the Stones, featuring beautiful, fluttering recorder riffs by Brian Jones.
Also, a band called The Left Banke did some wonderful, baroque pop during this era. Check out Pretty Ballerina and Walk Away, Renee.

My father used to pick me up to hang out with him, or just spend time with him doing errands. I wasn't a fan of most of the music he had, so one CD I did enjoy was the Rolling Stones greatest hits, and She's a Rainbow was the first track on it. I get misty eyed every time I hear this song, thinking about what I wouldn't give to have another one of those rides again.

Nicky Hopkins played the piano and harpsichord. John Paul Jones wrote the string arrangement and became a founding member of Led Zeppelin less than a year later.

You would love their song "Waiting On A Friend." There's no best band, lots of influential bands of which The Beatles were the most important. I'm a Beatles, Stones, Zepplin, Hendrix, Prince... fan, but man do I love The Doors.

This is my favorite Stones' song. Followed by Paint It Black and Miss You, which has one of the best bass lines ever.

Oh Amber! You would have fit in so well in San Francisco in '67!💯 Tune in, turn on, and drop out was our motto!😂🤣❤✌

"Dandelion" by the Rolling Stones has a similar vibe as this one. Both are great child-like songs from their psychedelic era of 1967. Their music of this period drifted far from their Chuck Berry/Chicago blues roots but this was a time of experimentation of music, culture and substances and both artist and audience were freaking out together as the 60's rolled on. Groovy man!

The number of hits, albums, and years being musical monsters makes the Magnificent Rolling Stones number ONE- by a mile.

"Happy", "Bitch", "Tumbling Dice!" Also "Waiting On A Friend", "Gimme Shelter", & *Angie".
Hard to go wrong with ANY of those Stones songs.

John Paul Jones arranged and conducted the strings and horns for this song. You know him as the bass player/keyboardist in Led Zeppelin.
His orchestral and symphonic compositions have graced many great pop and rock songs over the decades.
Like Zep's KASHMIR, for example!
Also, his arrangement on REM's 90's masterpiece, EVERYBODY HURTS, is superb. A must listen!

"2000 Light Years From Home" another Stones classic from this time period.

My favorite Stones song is Time Is On My Side, one of their earliest hits. I love everything off the Sticky Fingers album and the Exile On Main Street album

The violins and strings on this song were arranged by another superstar of rock, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

Love this song, and if you're looking for great Rolling Stone ballads, check out "Ruby Tuesday" and "As Tears Go By". Others have suggested Left Banke's "Walk Away, Renee" (so great) and "Pretty Ballerina" (must hear, and definitely check out Alice Cooper's version of "Pretty Ballerina" as well.)

If you're looking for something a little more from the Rolling Stones, maybe take a listen to "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Mother's Little Helper". Might not be their best or most well known songs, but still pretty good <3
