During the Goodwood Festival of Speed I filmed the new Aston Martin Valiant.

The Aston Martin Valiant, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused, road-legal special edition, stands as a testament to the brand's legacy of creating highly collectible models. Developed through the bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin, the Valiant was born from a personal commission by Formula One driver Fernando Alonso. This masterpiece features a 745 horsepower 5.2-liter Twin-Turbo V12 engine paired with a bespoke six-speed manual transmission. The Valiant's design and engineering are tailored for those who seek the ultimate driving experience, both on the track and on the road.

The Valiant showcases a bespoke chassis specification with Multimatic ASV dampers and recalibrated electronics, enhancing its track capabilities. Its all-carbon fiber bodywork reduces weight and increases downforce, while the pared-back, lightweight interior ensures a focused driving experience. The spectacular styling reimagines the iconic 'Muncher' Le Mans racer, utilizing cutting-edge materials and technology. Key components are crafted from magnesium, titanium, and advanced 3D printing techniques, achieving further weight savings. Limited to just 38 units globally.

Aston Martin’s Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer, Marco Mattiacci, describes the Valiant as a modern masterpiece. It embodies the brand's commitment to creating rare and extraordinary cars, blending performance, track-focused dynamics, and hypercar intensity. With unique engineering highlights, including a 3D-printed rear subframe, magnesium torque tube, and motorsport-spec lithium-ion battery, the Valiant offers an unparalleled driving experience. Its aggressive bodywork, extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber, and state-of-the-art suspension technology make it the ultimate Aston Martin driver’s car, designed to excel on both road and track.

Honestly, better than Goodwood's official footage. The audio is in sync for starters. Hope more manufacturers go down this route, but I think Aston stands alone.

It costs $3.65m. I’d buy a proven investment car - a Ferrari 288 GTO for that spend.
