I See Life As a Video Game: It's Not What You Think

I used to play a lot of video games, but as I grew up, I no longer have the time and energy to play. Life just beat me up real good. Then one day I come up with the idea of seeing life as a giant video game, and see everything in life through the lens of gaming.

Want to level up and beef up my health state? Eat more and go to the gym.
Want to get new skins? Go shopping.

But it wasn’t that simple.

It soon got complicated and mind-boggling, very quickly. Questions come in waves: What are the rewards? When do you know you win the game? Or can you even win the game? Can you even win it?

I've treated life like a game for pretty much my entire life. At some point, I figured out that I function much better when I don't take things seriously. If I just focus on having fun, I do better. Unfortunately, a lot of people have criticized me for this outlook and have tried to quash it out of me...I don't listen to them though.

It sounds to me like you're on the right track to figuring things out. The meaning of life is to find a meaning for oneself to live. Keep up the good work!

The only game aspect I have on life is like a TellTale game. Where your choices affect how the story unfolds. Let's say you have a project due Friday and today is Monday. You have 4-5 days to complete this project or you fail. Will you start working on the project at home? Or will you just drop your bag and hop on the game with the homies? The decisions you make will impact your future in some way, shape or form. There are bad and good consequences with each action you take, which is why I tend to overthink a little too much.

Life needs exploration and interesting events, something to enjoy, BUT its NOT this dopamine from domination or money. It is love and acceptance in this world, good understanding of each other and supporting what is healthy and not harmful.
