Показать описание
In the V2.10 firmware for the MixPre-3, 6, and 10T, Sound Devices added a handy set of new features called re-mix and re-record. This allows you to create a new mix of a previously recorded sound clip. Here’s how it works.

Gear and links discussed/used to record this episode:

Sound Devices MixPre-3

Sound Devices MixPre-6

Sound Devices MixPre-10T

RODE Reporter Microphone

Electrovoice RE-20 (Channel 1 microphone)

Shure SM57 (Channel 2 microphone)

Audio Technica AT2005 (Channel 3 microphone, I’m always surprised at how well this holds up to much more expensive microphones)

Thanks so much for the demo. A couple weeks ago I asked you a question about live-mixing but after watching this I think I get the basic concept of it. I really appreciate this demo because I have a MixPre-10T and I don't think I ever would have figured out how to re-mix on my own.

Hi, great video. Could you explain (or, do you already have a video for that (I could not find one)) how to mix properly in the recorder (for fiction narrative work)? I'm having trouble figuring out if I should be panning my boom Left and lavs Right in the mix. Or should I center everything so that it's all mixed together when I use both the boom and the lavs? any suggestions? tutorials? thank you.

OK, exposing my ignorance but I haven't seen an explanation of this anywhere, not even the manual and I suspect it's something that is standard on pro devices or maybe specific to Sound Devices, but can you explain the actual look of the metering where you see the peak indicator which is always changing but remains stable for a very brief period on the actual constant level. You see that there is a consistent gap between the two but it never really appears that the constant movement of the meters hits where the peak marker bounces around. What is this gap and how to you best tell your level at all times? I wish they also had a readout of the constant level the way you get on a Tascam. I know this is just a pro metering that I haven't seen but I'd say most who come from the consumer market and now into this more pro device at a consumer price, may be new to this look. Thanks!

With the new 32bit files, will it be possible to trim the gain on a remix track ... any thoughts ?

I am ryan from Jakarta, I want to ask, I have a problem with the 10t mixpre that I have, so he has no display or black screen, so only the sound device logo is lit, do you think there is a solution for my 10p mixpre?

Cool feature. I have a side question. Someone on a forum was saying that when he records long poly files every 4 gigs or so it splits into a new file. Is that true? Or will the 10T record long unbroken files? Thanks man. I’m trying to sell off my GH4 and a modified Tascam DR-680 to put to a 10t! Looks like such a sweet machine.

Hey Curtis: If mixpre 6 recorder and mixpre d mixer r priced similarly. Why get the mixpre d if it has lower quality preamps and no recording function? Basically, what is the advantage of buying their higher priced mixers units?
