Hopefully this will help users with this problem. It's very annoying and took quite a bit of searching to find this solution / workaround.

Ah! You saved me! In my case it was a VPN used by an application on my phone that was causing the issue. As soon as you said wlan, I shut that VPN off and it connected. Thank you!

Why is this still not resolved @DJI ?
Action 5 pro and Samsung S22 phone. Tried what you suggested in the video, doesn't work for me.
What does work, but is very cumbersome, if I restart my phone and then open the mimo app (mobile data may remain connected) then I can connect the mimo app to the action 5 as many times as I want, works perfectly. But once you close the app completely, you will no longer be able to connect the app again. I have to restart my phone and then it works again. Why is this problem not solved after so many problems and time?

Thanks! This helped me. Couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working and I tried this and bingo all working now. I’m using iPhone 11 with action 5 pro.

I have jsut had this same problem. This fix did not help BUT what did fix it was going into the camera wifi setting and changing the wifi frequency to the lower level (2.something) rather than 5.whatever it is.

Fixed it for me :)

I solved it by opening the "App Management" menu on my phone, opening the "Dji Mimo" app, and under the "Connection Method" section, selecting only "Wi-Fi" (thus disabling "Mobile Data").

Even with VPN mine connects but drops out within minutes. Thsnks for video mate but I'd tried all of those and spoken to customer service and they have no clue either. I give up looks like more to landfill

Always turn off your VPN to connect to your DJI MIMO that's how I resolve the same issue "fail to connect"

had the same problem and no app upgrade was aviable
tried everything and only after i changed the wi-fi frequency from-5.8 to - 2.4GHZ it workd

Nothing works I can't connect to dji action 4 with Samsung galaxy s23 ultra only through ipad without problems and then I installed new software on the camera. I couldn't connect a year ago and now the app sucks I have insta 360 I've never had any problems.

more than a year ago, but ive seen this video now. i see in a split second, your VPN is ON. putt that OFF and it should work
