KNIPEX Cobra® QuickSet (EN)

The Cobra® QuickSet combines all proven properties of the KNIPEX Cobra® with an additional push function which makes it easier to work in very confined and inaccessible areas.
Adjustment directly on the workpiece is possible by simply sliding the pliers handle. The hinge bolt locks itself with the first workload. The gripping width of the pliers is then fixed and can only be adjusted by pressing the button.
The hinge bolt must be released by pressing the button and the pliers must be completely opened once to activate the QuickSet function again.

Are these pliers better than the original Cobras? If I buy them should I also buy the regular ones (87 01) or would that be a waste of money?

At 1:25 you show them locking onto that shiny smooth round vice pipe or whatever it’s called. I tried grabbing onto the piston Rod of my cars shock absorber to hold it from spinning so I can remove the top nut and it didn’t grab the rod at all. The rod spun no matter how many times I tried holding it with the Cobra pliers. Is this false advertising or am I missing something. The rod was about 3/8” thick or so. Smooth and shiny
