I imported this phone to the UK from China. It's a great mid range phone. One thing to note. There are two power saving options built in to the phone. On standard power save which keeps background tasks active, using dual sims, I get near 2 days. The extreme power save feature would most likely double that, but you loose access to background updates such as email and social media. Having a microSD on a HTC is a massive bonus as well unlike the "premium" M8 which does not.

I bought the Desire 820, and I'm loving it! It's a beauty! The phone is super fast and sound output is awesome! The battery life is also great, it gave me more than 35 hours of backup, running songs, videos, games, bluetooth, camera, calls and messages, etc. Now I'm waiting for the Lollipop update which is guaranteed for this phone.

after 2 years of using:
it simply cannot be used as a smartphone without having a powerbank along with it, even then, heavy usage like graphic intensive games will heat this phone upto uncomfortable levels.
ppi while not horrible is not as sharp as comparitively as most midrangers are giving 300+ppi
if you're willing to ignore this, it is a super fast phone which doesn't lag even to this day on android m. i use this as a secondary phone for media consumption and productivity use and it does more than whats expected from a two year old midrange device. plus htc havemt abandoned this phone so security updates pop up from time to time.

hi there ranjit... i liked this review very much .. but the overall issue is the phone heats up and the battery life.. i just want to is it bad for the phone if it heats up so much.. is it that the system will degrade soon.?? i would be thankful if u clear my doubt.. 2nd thing is im confused with the htc 820 and the lumia 925 an lumia 830.. apart from this can u suggest me a good brand in acordnce with good battery life, sound, and constant usage.. if heating up is not a big issue for the handset i made my mind for htc 820.. hoping you clear my doubts..
