"I still remember my mother." Gives me goosebumps. Pulled at the heart strings and the way he sang it was beautiful!

I love how you can already tell the difference in worldview between the two. Taka is somewhat arrogant in his perspective. He wants everything and everyone to do as he tells them to, believes as King nothing will ever look down on him. Wheres Mufasa is more humble, acknowledging that certain things they simply have no reign on nor does he have the desire to tie down these things. Ex, "You may look down on them but they are free". Not really surprising considering Mufasa, unlike Taka, was probably not born a royalty hence the modesty. Ultimately, i wouldn't be surprised if this difference in their worldview ends up being one of the reasons why Mufasa came to be the king and not Taka

As Rafiki says, the stronger the love, the stronger the sense of betrayal.

Was Taka right in getting vengeance on Mufasa? Taka saved his life in the river, let him win the race so his father would spare him, stood up for him when others scorned him, planned a future with him by his side, all while spoilt by his father's promises of power. He told Mufasa that he liked Sarabi first, that's pretty huge even in today's society- you don't move in on your brother's crush!

Taka had always been a coward and his greatest flaw was putting himself first in difficult situations. When Taka first realized this, he felt shame, but his heart was quelled by his father saying this is normal and necessary for a king; do what is best for yourself then use deceit to cover it up. It was an easier path than facing his faults head on, and since he felt validated, he continued.

So when Mufasa gets with Sarabi, all Taka can feel is the betrayal. And it was betrayal, Mufasa had to choose to betray his brother or betray his heart. Such is life.

I always thought that the Scar was a symbol of a misdeed, and it is in part, but it is also a symbol of Taka regretting his revenge and jumping in to save his brother from the very death he brought upon him. He felt the shame again, but this time, instead of his father, he thought of his mother's words; your time of courage will come.

I think because Taka chose such a strong action of revenge, they never addressed the first betrayal of Mufasa "taking" Sarabi. That should have been talked out between them, after all, a very important participating party wasn't initially included in that conversation, lol. Taka is not altogether unreasonable, he's shown moments of clarity. I'm sure he would have eventually seen how useless trying to get with Sarabi would have been, she didn't love him. And maybe they could have found him another partner, before he fell into disgrace.

It was a great movie.

This song made me realize that Scar and Simba are foils to each other. There's big similarities between their worldviews in "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" and "I Always Wanted a Brother" - both wanted to be king because of the power that comes with it.
Honestly, if Simba hadnt witnessed Mufasa's death and emerged stronger from the incident, he would have been worse than Scar.

The “hey mufasa~” “yes taka” “i’ll race ya to the other side~” is so satisfying it gives me chills don’t ask me why it’s just so good 😊

without context @ 1:10 it sounds like he was saying "You're pretty sharp" to the animals telling him not to be out late, yet he was talking about porcupine like animals that pricked him

Scar (Taka) had every right to become a villain but *no* right to become a murderer to his own brother

The thing that is sad is taka made a song about mufasa protecting him when his father called him a stray but then he ends up being scar and kills mufasa and makes simba think he killed his father that’s why when I watched the movie I wanted them to end up being best friends but I love both characters so so so much 😢😢
