The ACS National Historic Chemical Landmark honoring Dr. Bettye Washington Greene, the first Black American female Ph.D. chemist to be hired by The Dow Chemical Company and alumna of the Wayne State University Department of Chemistry with keynote speaker. Dr. Dorothy J. Phillips. Dr. Phillips was employed by Dow Chemical Company from 1974 to 1984, and was elected to serve three terms on the Board of Directors for the American Chemical Society.
