Our pen club got to visit Tim's studio earlier this year. He was very generous with his time, and explanations of what he does. He mentioned the Shawshank tree to us too! Very neat pen, and an impressive penmaker.

I think your review of the Shawshank Redemption pen is my favorite of 2024. I love the movie and the symbolism on the pen.

As usual, great video!
Love being in the honorable mentions! Folks are really enjoying both of our Taschenstift models! We’re glad you like it too.
Wishing you an amazing 2025 David! - Francisco

Such an amazing tribute to the Shawshank Redemption! Hope to see more cool work from Hooligan.

I love my King of the Night. Twas my Christmas present! It is a gorgeous pen. I'd been meaning to pick up an Esterbrook, but one hadn't called to me until I saw your video on the the King of the Night.

It's been a great year, David! Congratulations on making the century of videos. Very impressive, especially considering the professionalism of your content.
My favourite purchase this year has to be my Waterman W2 pen - it just feels like a natural extension to my hand. Other favourites are a Burnham B49, the new Kaweco Piston Sport, and a Pilot Telescopic.

You've got great taste in pen anesthetics! Every time you show one of your favorites I was like "yup. I see why." Lololol

Thank you, David! I love your work. I purchased an Edison Jameson this year, and I believe it's a highly underrated pen. You're one of the few reviewers who have made a video on it. That #8 Magna Carta nib is truly outstanding!

Thank you for a great year David - best wishes for 2025!!

Your review of the Shawshank Redemption pen inspired me to contact Tim and commission a pen from him. The wait will be well worth it I am sure.

What an outstanding collection of 2024 acquisitions -- thanks for sharing! There's always a big risk of "penvy" when watching your year-end recaps, but it's worth it to see all your finds. My favorite acquisition this year was a Skateboard pen from Black Robin Pens in the UK. Meg painstakingly stacks layers of recycled wood from maple skateboards to make these colorful and beautiful pens. I've wanted one for years and finally acquired one. It feels great in the hand and will take any Jowo nib. I appreciate the closer look at the fold-down Kaweco converter and will have to check that out.

That Shawshank Redemption pen is incredible!

Hey, hey! For the first time in forever, I actually own one of your "Best of the Year" fountain pens. Thank you for your continued efforts in featuring discriminating projects; this year being no different. Best wishes & have a good Holiday Season and on into the future. I will continue watching and very occasionally find myself capable of buying your worthy recommendations.

My favourite purchase this year is the Montblanc Jane Austen edition pen

This is a very cool list of pens, the Momiji pen is great! Kilk seems a really solid penmaker, would love to get another of their pens. Estie King of the Night is the most spectacular, indeed! For me, Magna Carta MAG600 with flex nib was nr. 1 this year (best modern flex nib!), followed closely by Kilk Orient Manilla Sunset (Endless exclusive), and, surprisingly, Esterbrook Model J Blackberry (nice purple ebonite, great BB nib)

My favorite was my King of the Night and what made it stand out was the specially engraved nib courtesy of Kirk Speers
