Most True

People who think that generalizations are bad should not be trusted to think or to vote or be allowed to have a job more important than shift manager at Olive Garden.

Generalizations can be false, a little, true, or very true. Whenever I generalize, I am always giving you the generalization that I believe to be "most true." If I'm correct, then anyone who disagrees wants you to have less truth than I do.

“The average height of a woman is 5’4”
“That’s not true I’m 5’8!”
I swear this is how every fucking conversation goes

The world would legitimately be 100x better if all people could get an A in AP statistics

I’ve debated thousands of women on my platforms over the years and when presented with irrefutable facts they don’t like they will almost always try to use the exception to disprove the rule. It’s part of the general female propensity to believe a comfortable lie versus an uncomfortable truth.

“Well statistically, no. You’re not.”

I find it extremely frustrating whenever someone makes a general claim and someone else says "Oh but I know someone that doesn't apply to" thinking this somehow invalidates the original assertion.

Yup, anyone arguing the "whatabouts" is not being intellectually honest. Of course it does pay to note the exceptions when it is things within your control (ie. your likelihood of divorce is not just blind luck, you can look for women who value integrity, have low body counts, and live a life that decreases your chance of divorce), but you cannot just focus on the exceptions to derail the topic at hand.

I run into this same thing when teaching and counciling others. Everyone thinks they are that special one who wont fall into the common pitfalls even though 99% of the time they will. But just try convincing them of that. No one wants the believe they are average, though most are.

There's a book called "The Art of Thinking Clearly" by Rolf Dobelli. It details the errors in thinking that produce bad reasoning and decisions. I feel like our whole culture has descended into bad thinking and lost the ability to reason.

One thing I've taken away from this channel is, no matter what the bell curve represents, the closer to the end you get the more you struggle...

This how we got to the “what is a woman” bullshit.

It’s also pattern recognition. And people of I’ll intent whether it be some 304 or political ideologues hate when you are good at recognizing patterns.

My FAVORITE is when I say "80% of men in prison for violent crimes were rsised by single mothers, proving single mothers can not raise children"
And EVERY women sights THIS ONE literally JUST one example of a successful person rsised by a single mom and then I say thats nice but what about the 2 MILLION+ men in prison in America raised by single mothers? These same women LITERALLY reply "that doesn't count"
Lost a few friends once when I said this and they sight the divorced daughter of a mutual friend whos only daughter grew up to be a success And I said precisely she was the EXCEPTION to the rule because #1 her ex-husband was wealthy she got a beautiful home in the divorce 7 years of alimony very significant child support and hers and then her daughters college (yes her alimony was good enough she was able to go back to college get a degree get a job her college cost was part of her divorce settlement) paid for 100% by people other than her mom and her parents were also financially well of and gave her all the help she needed as both her parents and her ex inlaws provided her with on call child care which I pointed out all these very significant advantages that ARE NOT available to the vast overwhelming majority of single mothers
You could've hear a cricket fart 100 yards away after I said that
Yeah lost a few friends that day

Generalizations get so many people genuinely aggravated.I try to speak in these terms as often as possible. It's my anti-BS aura

Arguing from the exception has great appeal to people who make decisions based on feelings rather than facts.
