I have lived here for over 30 years and driven by that area thousands of times, and have never seen, or known about that!! Thanks for sharing!

Steven, love your series! The mine structure is actually support pilings. The entrance, I believe, was below this and was sealed up. I also think that what appears to be a drainage pond at the bottom of the 405 off ramp is fed by water coming out of the mine. (Not certain on that).

I lived in Renton all my life and that hill walking up from the museum to Phillip Arnold Park on top is a experience

Good work!! Thanks for sharing!
Note: there’re 2 plaques on the old Hoist-foundation ruin. You can see the other in your video!

Curious if you came across any information about coal mines around Fairwood. I grew up there and in the 60s/70s there were still railroad tracks and coal car in the valley under the power lines that led down to where Aqua Barn used to be - don't know what's there now. There was also an old missile silo from the cold war back towards lake desire under the power lines where the buildings were turned into a private school. Curious if that's still there.

I like your videos my wife and I are thinking of moving there. I’m curious how much did it cost you to register your truck there? And did you have to do a smog test or a safety check?
