I am with State Farm. They raise their prices constantly for homeowners and car insurance. Recently they upped my deductible from 1700 to 2000 dollars. Quite high. I am a senior citizen. These prices are very hard for me.

Currently have USAA. I’ve had them since 2014 and every year prices have gone up. Honestly can’t afford them anymore and that’s why I’m watching this.

A'few months ago our insurer stopped offering home insurance anymore - we got a letter from our lender that we need to choose a new policy, as it's required. I had no idea about 'collateral insurance", so I was FLOORED seeing my next bill, an increase of around 300$.. For one month!!! Now that I know this, I'm frantically searching for a new policy, without knowing prettyyy much anything about insurance. I'm in WA state. Which company should I look into, what do I need in a policy? Preferably paying as little as possible, lol. Please let me know, any info helps, otherwise I'm just guessing completely! They really need to teach these things in school :(

Hi Mark - Great info - thank you! We live in Indiana and have a stucco house with a wood shake roof. We wanted a replacement home policy and originally went with Cincinnati. But now they've raised the rates by several thousand dollars. A different insurance broker has quoted me a much more reasonable rate with Safeco. But when you go online, Safeco just has terrible customer service ratings. I'm curious about what you think?

ive used Triple A, Wananessa kemper and now mercury insurance by far Mercury is the best ive ever had ! im paying 79$ for full coverage . the same coverage in triple A was 300$ .... kemper 180$ so i love Mercury insurance. but i think thats only sold in california and maybe 2 other states, i dont think they are nation wide
