Watching the air changs in two hours is unreal. If you didn't know better, you'd think the world was ending...

The Ontario Premier Doug Ford cut our fire prevention budget by 67% and now is claiming this is just "wildfire season", a season we were previously unaware of in this province. We usually have fire bans during droughts only.

It’s easy enough to say “stay indoors and run your aircon” poorer neighbourhoods are going to be disproportionately affected by this….

I literally live in the upper West side of Manhattan and I’ve been wondering a lot about this. Thanks for the video.

I used to live in Hanoi, Vietnam. The average AQI was around 130 - 150 which is really bad and quite often would go over 180 for weeks at a time.

As someone from CA, we know what you are going through, and it will pass.

Sealing off your house does also cause an abundance of CO2. Do going the extra mile to making virtually air tight can also have negative side effects. This is especially a problem with home using gas appliances.

Proper air purification as a result of hepa purifiers and premium hvac filters are the most that the average home should consider implementing for the time being. Even in the home try to reduce strenuous activity and do whatever you can to keep your respiratory rate low. Damage to your body is a real concern.

It peaked out at around 438 here in Syracuse today, it's really pretty concerning from a public health standpoint. I'm not going outside in that without a KN95 on! I heard it was just as bad in Ottawa yesterday and nearly as bad in Rochester. Huge props to the firefighters in Canada working to put out all the wildfires!

I live in Shanghai and the AQI is always bad. I was looking forward to better air quality moving back to NJ but I guess I won’t get better.

We had the air smelling like a campfire for three days. I can’t imagine how bad it is in New York

I live in Ontario, and I’m close to Quebec. I have the same weather app as the one you showed, but my air quality ranges from 1 to 11. 11 is the worst and yesterday and Tuesday, I saw the air quality go over 3 for the first time on the app, no, I saw it reach 11 for several hours. I have never been concerned with air quality before, it seemed useless to my area on the app.
