Did some part time for Five Guys whilst at Uni. The managers were the only ones to date who were 100% honest and up front with me. "We're extremely desperate for people, lots of staff left. Don't worry about experience, most of our staff came in with no experience, just work hard and you'll learn as you go"

This hits a little close to home I won’t lie. Got a degree at 19 and no one would hire me in that field because of no experience. Then got a truck licence last year and same thing is happening. I swear it’s just a cop out so if you completely fit the job but they don’t like you they can sting you with the experience thing and hire their mates 😅

Genuinely the problem with employers. Got asked if I had any work experience and I said “no but i am ready and willing to start building that up” the mf just said “that’s great but you have to work to get work experience”. I just looked at that mf dead in eyes and said “right”.

Funny thing is when you actually get the job and they’re under manned so badly. It’s because they’re very picky, so you have to work twice as hard until they hire another person. Pisses me off. They say they want to hire the “experienced person” but every “experienced person” leaves after a couple months and the ones that are loyal are ones with barely any experience
