I still have not been able to do this. It seems like a connection issue. I have tried multiple usb cables. Still no dice.

on newer android versions u have to enable developer mode but u can look that up bc it only takes 30 seconds bc u search something and click like 7 times but anyway. if u have it enabled or just enabled it. search developer options scroll down till u see usb configuration then click MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) or whatever your transfering. MTP allows u to access the root of ur androids storage. PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) obviously transfers pictures, RNDIS (USB Ethernet) I don't know what this does. and MIDI I don't know either

Do you know if connecting a type c from phone to a USB 3.0 port on the PC (PCI card) would give 3.0 speeds or would you need a 3.0 cable to get 3.0 speeds for the phone

Thank you for putting in the part where you change the USB port on the phone from "No data transfer" to "File Transfer". It was "File transfer / Android Auto" on mine, but close enough. And thanks for saying the photos and videos are located in "DCIM" folder.

does anyone know how to simply move items onstead of copying them, i dont want to keep my items in the previous location they are at AS WELL AS where theyre moved to

people have suggested deleting the original version but i have thousands of photos and it didnt actually copy over all of them. meaning ifi mass delete then ill be losing a few pictures i dont wantto delete.

i dont wanna go through 1000+ photos just so i can not accidentally delete maybe 2 of them
