Dwayne "the Pearl' Washington hits the Big Shot January 21, 1984. As time winds down Martin Clark of Boston College is fouled by SU's Wendell Alexis after a terrific set of rebounds with 4 seconds left, on a bitterly cold clear day in Syracuse NY. Clark misses the free throw and the game is tied. Syracuse has no time outs so they inbound the ball and Sean Kerins passes to Dwayne "The Pearl" Washington and just one step over half court at full speed he lets go a perfect two handed jump shot that sails through the air and hits nothing but net. Pandemonium erupts in the Dome.Washington never stops running all the way to the locker room Syracuse wins 75-73. The single season greatest game in the dome ever, undisputed..I was there in Section 318. Al Albert from USA Network was on the Play by Play Call that Night.
