The legend himself! I grew up reading his Dinotopia books (more like obsessing over the art...) He was a huge reason I first picked up a brush. I always love listening to James' insights on painting. He is a treasure trove of knowledge and experience. Just watch, listen, and be transported to another world.

Wow! What a wonderful interview what a gracious and talanted man. I loved how he was interested in you and asked you questions about you, that is what I call an actual conversation. I love forward to there podcasts every Sunday morning while I drink my coffee. Thank you so much Lindsay for doing these.

Lindsay, I am a Crafter, not an artist. That is, I can add flowers to a bird house—and build the birdhouse. I can bead embroider, but I need to trace the pattern. One of the things I’ve admired so much about you is that you love to learn new things. And you have a deep commitment to “rising tides lift all boats!” Thank you for these interviews!

Well done Lindsay! Great interview! James Gurney is an icon and such a generous online mentor to thousands. Can't wait for "Gouache in the Wild" His "Color and Light" is one of my favorite art reference books.

What a GREAT interview... Hearing him talk took me right back to the days of paste-up ads! I used to run a typesetting machine and use rubber cement and waxers for laying out ads back in the 70s/80s. We had a hand-crank camera in a dark room for shooting stats for ads and used markers mainly for marker-rendered layouts (who would want ARTWORK made out of markers at that time?! lol!) BOY, have we come a long way!! Life changed dramatically when our ad agency brought in a "Macintosh Plus" in 1987... ANYWAY, what a journey he's been on, and his resources for sharing so many tips, theories, and stories is fantastic. ...and that he can stay so caught up with the progress of the time is admirable! Watching his videos and reading his books has been such a huge encouragement to me to knock the rust off and try new mediums, as well as finding inspiration for painting nearly anywhere!
