How to Reuse an old CRT TV with Modern Equipment

Hi, this video shows you how you can reuse your old CRT television and have new equipment plugged into it like a laptop, Blu-ray player and a Nintendo Switch.
For approx £15-£20 you can set up your old CRT to take the place of a broken flat screen until you save up enough money to fix or replace it.
I show how to connect up HDMI equipment to the CRT TV using Scart and Composite.
Many thanks Vince

This is actually perfect for playing old video games on via an emulator. PS2 and older era games just don't feel the same on modern TV's

funny that you speak of the perfect TV

and yet the perfect TV is right there, a CRT TV.
why would one want to replace the True Gaming TV.

My CRT will work for me for ages. I like it. I think the TVs and monitors both are workable for the long term. I think the monitors are especially so, given their potential resolutions and the fact they don't need scaling.

I wonder if people have unrealistic expectations about how much better modern equipment is compared to older equipment. Honestly, the only time I've ever noticed a significant difference is when comparing an extremely old set ('73 if I remember) to a high end, modern flat-screen.

The black band is actually from your camera shutterspeed- the fps is correct so no flicker, but the shutterspeed is off sync, to capture crystal clear crt make sure to have your shutterspeed at 1/60 if you are capturing 60fps (PAL) or 50fps and 1/50 shutterspeed (NTSC)

This is great. I bought a crt tv and one of those clone consoles for some retro fun. The clone console was total crap, but it's nice I can hook up my spare computer to my tv and play emulators and have authentic scanlines :D

when had the hdmi to scart set up, in order to set up composite rgb phono's all needed to do was a plug in converter that goes from scart to composite, which cost a pound or two.

Ive had a crt from the 60s for almost 7 years and i dont mind the resolution since i grew up around these but try having a lcd for that amount of time plus these crt monitors are built to last unlike the lcd counterpart
