'why do you still play clarinet'

I graduated high school 1 year ago, and am one of the few non-music majors that I know who continue to play. This video I give commentary on why I continue to go.

I love playing the Bass Clarinet, almost as much as I love the Soprano or Contrabass Clarinet. I'm currently a high school student playing these, and I really love being in band with all my friend. What a great Clarinet world we live in, am I right Mozart?

As a non-music major in your same academic position who plays all clarinets (especially the Bass), I feel you.

I plan to minor in music, but for someone going to a tiny school, I am extremely nostalgic for big bands again 😞. I went to all the Honor Bands and All States and gigs out there in HS, and the best I can really do is private lessons on solo juries

If I end up transferring to a big school, you'd better believe I am auditioning for all their bands

I'm not majoring in music but I plan to join my college's wind ensemble next year! I would never be able to give up my bass clarinet 😅

You're probably right about people getting busy. I played saxophone through school and wanted to play in the state orchestra (dumbass me picked the wrong instrument for that, mind you).

But then I went to college and moved across the country and my sax stayed at my parents house.

Now, in middle age I'm like.. .OH SHIT and have picked it back up. Now bass clarinet is my main focus.
