Learning to Skate Vert is something that have been on my bucket list since i first started skating again 3 years ago. As a kid growing up I looked at vert ramps in total awe and thought it was something only the pro's could do and never imagined I could do it so kind of bypassed it as a possibility.
Time moved on i got older and realised it would be a huge achievement if I gave it a go, at least i would have tried it and I'd not grow old regretting every even giving it a chance.
Lets not understate the obvious, Vert is scary and skating can be scary enough without adding something like vert to the mix but there's an itch i have to scratch so I'm going for it, Lets see what happens!

I did previously drop in on a smaller 9ft Vert ramp a couple of years ago which I mentioned in the video which you can see here:
But I didn't manage to pursue it and start riding vert regularly but now my confidence has increased a bit over the past couple of years I really feel like making a good effort at it.

You’re doing a great job man... it must feel great to drop from such a high ramp. Great drop shot from bellow. The weightless feeling you’re talking about must feel amazing and scary at the same time. Tight those trucks and keep going up and hitting that coping! 🤘🏼

Love this video! Been a street skater for 35 years and just got into vert. I am exactly at the same point. Dropping in for the first time feels like such a leap of faith!

This is an awesome video. I'm just starting to dip my toe into vert. Dropped in twice on a 12ft and so I am still so new. Very encouraging seeing your progress. Thanks for posting.

As you said, it's a bucket list thing for myself as well to drop in on a real vert ramp. I do not like heights as well, but at the same time feel like this is something that I can most definitely do and within my physical ability. It's just the mind that is holding me back. I was on a trip a couple of years ago and we were at Virginia Beach so I had to go check out Mount Trashmore. I climbed the stairs and stood on the deck but as soon as I saw the facing wall my knees got weak and I instantly reached out for the railing. Lol. After a bit I was finally able to walk over to the lip and sit on the deck with my legs dangling over the coping.

That is a beautiful and gnarly ramp. Awesome that you got the drop in and a few slash grinds. For sure a workout, a whole different kind of fitness.
You did a good job talking the body positions and challenges of the kick turns at that angle.
I have put a lot of work into front side carves recently. I have to really stay disciplined as a drive up the wall then I kind of do a front shoulder dip that brings me around a down. There is definitely a moment of blindside fear at the apex. I have never done a front side slash but maybe soon.
I like how you were saying "just yet" yup, we are not where we want to yet.
Stay rad Sir.

Is that someone's back garden Neil? Just started skating the local 6ft bowl and that's scary enough.

Great vid, so inspiring. I'm dreaming of skating vert, can't even drop in the mini yet but really want to. 3 weeks back into it now as an old man.

Think you have some dropped frames on the talking sections? no biggie.
