I wasn't a fan of the business policies in the beginning for the reasons you stated. However, when I learned how to bulk "combine" them back together, I use them and like them a lot. I go in about once a month to be sure I only have my original policies and clean up and delete any temp files ebay may have created created and it works great for me.

I like the policies... I name them 2 day handling to keep them organized, I have under 250 items so It may just be easier. I had them once and dropped it, but then opted in again and have liked it this time. I have 8 policies. 1 - return policy, 1 payment policy and 6 shipping policies... I had to watch a video on how to set it up right, which helped so much!

I'm 67, and my girl scout items are packed away in the cedar chest. I was in scouts until I was 18. We wore our uniforms to school on meeting days. Congratulations on acquiring such a very nice gift.

I love the business policies! When the lettermail rates went up here in Canada, I was able to change the price for all the applicable listings in one shot. We may also have a postal strike happening in November. if that happens, I can modify the shipping methods all at once and then set them back again when it's over. Bulk edit has limitations.

Long time Survivor watcher here. The early seasons were more survive driven and the later seasons turn even more towards strategy. Some seasons have some amazing players that makes the whole season, like the first season Rupert was on, Johnny Fairplay, Russell Hantz, etc.

I had no clue you could opt out of business policies, as I don’t remember ever opting in! Thank you for sharing this information. I sell on eBay only using my phone, so if I wanted to make, change, or edit a business policy I couldn’t do it on the app. Such a pain, definitely opting out today

Business policies are a *mess* to say the least. I switched to them when USPS went from first class to ground advantage but you're right, it's a huge cluster.

I have found that business policies are more trouble than time saving, for all the reasons you mentioned. I'll be turning them off too.

Once I figured out how to use business policies, I love them and I don't get copies and duplicates anymore. The reason you keep getting extra policies is because you are selling similar off of someone else's listing. When you sell similar it maintains the business policy of the original listing you are copying so you need to use the drop down and select one of your policies in that instance. It copies both the shipping and return policy from the original listing so you have to change both.

Oh my! I wore that old pale green uniform in the late 40s! (I'm 86). You brought back some wonderful memories with those very vintage uniforms. My daughter wore the brighter green 60's uniform 😊

Nice of the gentleman to send those items. My mother was a Den Mother for my brother's troop. I don't know what her role was though. Then we moved and there was no scout troop but we had 4H instead and my mother became an advisor.

I signed up for business policies and honestly DID NOT like the non-flexibility of it so I no longer use them.

I don't have any problems using the Business Policies. I found that every time eBay does updates is when I get extra Policies. I take care of that and delete them.

The only Item Specifics that are searchable are the pre-existing drop-downs.

(If enough people fill in the same custom text, the drop down options evolve over time.)

I use business policies and shipping rate tables. I only change anything when shipping rates change. I do have to go in and change the listings that had open offers once it expires and delete the "copy" policy. Thats only a couple times a year. I sell similar size and weight items so only need a couple rate tables.

Over the years I've tried business policies three times and gave up three times, just don't get it.
