Celia’s insecurity did annoy me but I also understood why she was jealous of Don. He was the only one of the men (at that point) she married because she loved him and wanted to marry him not as a publicity stunt. I think it didn’t help that Evelyn threw her bisexuality in Celia’s face and the fact that if needed, she could go off, marry and love a man (and potentially save her career if their relationship was made public). However, Celia talked a big game but she wanted her career just as much as Evelyn. She said she would give it up for Evelyn but Evelyn was the only one honest enough to say that isn’t what either of them wanted. Celia was in denial about what it would take to have a relationship with Evelyn and keep her career. Evelyn (though she could’ve been a bit more considerate of Celia’s feelings) was willing to do what was necessary to save both of their careers.

I absolutely loved this book. Harry & Evelyn literally remind me of me & my best friend. The writing was just so well told. I can’t wait to read her other books especially if they written like this.

Just finished the book and came here to watch the reading vlong to listen to your thoughts and... THANK YOU FOR NOT LIKING CELIA. I didn't like her since the beginning, so so selfish. And I am a very insecure woman, but I really couldn't stand her until the end. Harry Cameron has my heart and soul and it was very sad when he died. Wasn't expecting the final plot twist too.
This book wasn't what at all what I thought it would be, but I still liked it because TJR is a Queen.

Im mid through this video and omg i agree with what you said about celia, she irritated me so i had to force myself to like her all for Evelyn cus that’s ma girl❤️ and omg Harry fricking Cameron was my absolute favourite. I loved him since the beginning. When he died, my heart shattered. I was sobbing so much and even though i read this book almost 2 months ago, my heart still aches💔.

I just finished and it’s honestly the intriguing interesting tragically beautiful piece of fiction I ever read. and yes Celia pissed me off more than once. Way too jealous and clingy. But I love the two of them together

i feel like after a point this book kinda got a little repetitive, and the plot twist in the end is lowkey unrelated bc well we're here for evelyn's life not monique's and the ending was kinda predictable (you guess it too lol)

I appreciate the writing of this book but it definitely was not my favourite by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Maybe I'm just not reflective enough but the ending came as a total surprise to me!
