The Machine gunners participated in a basic qualification course to test the soldiers’ skills behind their weapons. Helmet Cam footage of Swedish soldier during shooting an MG3 machine gun during a combined arms exercise. The combined arms exercise allowed riflemen and machine gunners to work together by closing with and destroying simulated targets by fire.

The MG 3 is a German general-purpose machine gun chambered for the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. The MG 3 was standardized in the late 1950s and adopted into service with the newly formed Bundeswehr, where it continues to serve to this day as a squad support weapon and a vehicle-mounted machine gun. The weapon and its derivatives have also been acquired by the armed forces of over 30 countries.

To be fair, the deer were attacking in formation, they had no choice but to open fire.

For those wondering, it is not normal to have the Kulspruta 94 (Swedish version of the MG3, the one in this video) on the ground like this. It is normally the secondary weapon of our MBT the Stridsvagn 122. The infantry normally use the Kulspruta 58 on the ground.

I love that no matter how long ago the MG42 was made, it still has relevant design today in the MG3
Those engineers really hit their mark with that design.
