if the aliens who are intelligent enough to travel light years of space or suppose they do use warp drive and worm holes, i think they are also smart enough to determine and act upon the rate of technology growth in target civilization before they reach it to invade. And if those aliens did indeed reached to invade earth without us prior knowledge, that means they are very highly likely to be far more advanced than us to stand a chance.
