First HiFiMan started cutting prices. Then other Chinese firms started building highly competitive models for amazing prices. Now Japan's Fostex is cutting their prices under the guise of a new model. I think the era of ridiculous pricing is coming to a close. The field is becoming saturated wiith fantastically excellent headphones and electronics.

I can't recommend fostex after mine fell to pieces after about a year and a half after $1000 spend.
