How to Create a Startup Shortcut and Splash Screen to Hide the Microsoft Access Branding

In this video, I will show you how to create a startup shortcut with a different icon, and a splash screen for your Microsoft Access database that will display upon startup instead of the Access logo. We'll also change the application name, icon, startup form, turn off the navigation bar, status bar, and special keys.

Davis from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (a Gold Member) asks: I'm designing an Access database that I want to set my clients up with, however I don't want them to know it was built in Access. You and I both know that Access is awesome, but a lot of people have this misconception that it's not a "real" database application. What can I do?

Silver Members and up get access to an Extended Cut of this video. Members will learn how to further hide traces of Access by turning off the Ribbon menus, maximize the startup form, and create an internal splash screen with a 5 second delay before the Main Menu loads, so you can emphasize your own branding.

I was a computer programmer 20 years ago but I changed to a new career. Now I'm starting a business and a quick and reliable database was needed. Your tutorials helped me a lot in many ways and I'm very grateful because I learned a lot in a very short period of time. Of course I paid membership to learn more. Thanks a lot.

Everything worked as you described except for the icon in the taskbar (and I did use an icon, not a bmp)

I got into programming as a kid using dBase III. Life took me in a different direction but every now and then I try access. Building a car dealership database right now by watching videos 😂😂😂

Set the pop-up value of your form to true (yes) then enable the 'run minimized' option in your shortcut to get rid of that background all together.

Very impressive. I have wondered how to do this, for years.

Adding to this great info, I believe if you right click the shortcut file, properties, then change 'Run' to 'Minimized', then the Access program will start minimized. You need a Form set to load on startup. Not sure how you can prevent the access app from showing if the taskbar icon is clicked however...

Some times clients need a database build but don't have the Microsoft Access program. Is there a work around?

HI, I am running a multiple-user database inside my company and I made the user interface form (Like navigation form) to run on full screen to hide the ribbon and the office menu and for security wise, however the staff is uncomfortable because the windows taskbar and the upper bar (which contains close and minimize ) are also invisible, can I make those to be visible while we are still on full screen mode ?? please help

It appears that the splash screen hack works when no other Access programs are open. Is there a work-around for this since our app has two different Access programs that work together?

Is this how it’s going to appear whenever the user opens Access after these changes are made? Really enjoy your videos btw. They are excellent.
