On 30 July 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Assembly passed an amendment bill enhancing punishment under Uttar Pradesh's anti-conversion law, making all the crimes under this Act non-bailable. Under this amendment, both the penalties and fines for illegal conversion have also been increased. In some cases, the law now provides for sentences ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment. Most of the laws are meant to be implemented but yes there is one or two which can misused by lawyers which doesn't matter b coz lawyers know about loopholes in each and every rules ie immensely exploited in present laws also.
