I’m 81 years old and learned to drive in my mom’s 1950 bullet nose. She moved up to a 1953 coup and later my dad bought a lark convertible. I had a buddy that drove a hawk that was a hot car. These were great cars and I’d love to have any of those today. Thanks for sharing.

My first car was a "53 Studebaker lowboy coup, I bought in 1963. I loved that car and what I was impressed with was it had a hill holder brake system that I hadn't seen before.

In 1963, a friend and I were cruising in the Sierra Nevada foothills in his new Corvette Stingray. Red, of course. On a long ascending straightaway, we pulled out to pass a Studebaker Lark. It turned out to be a supercharged Lark Daytona. We never got more than even with it . The Lark shamed us as if we were standing still and disappeared over the crest of the grade, never to be seen again. I don’t know how many runs like that one of those little engines could take, but that one was glorious. Studebaker went out in a blaze of glory.

Thanks for showing this beautiful collection of museum quality Studes! It could be said the Golden Hawk was a personal luxury car before the term came into use.

I remember Studebaker ads on the Mr. Ed (talking horse) show. They were live on set.

Absolutely sensational collection! I recall in the early 1960's my cousins' aunt would visit them in her 1953 red/white Studebaker coupe which was cool looking, but we felt sorry for her driving such an old car!

ALWAYS A FAN OF STUDEBAKER ! BOUGHT A 1938 STUDEY IN 1964, BROUGHT IT BACK TO LIFE WITH NEW PAINT, ENGINE, ETC., SOLD IT IN LATE 60 !

My dad drove a Studebaker Commander. I always thought that it was one of the sportiest looking cars in production! It would be nice to see new retro versions of these put into production! Great cars!

Thanks for making this video!
I always loved these cars.
This really explains the differences and changes in what is basically the same overall automobile, yet different names and appearances.

Wonderful cars!

Truly an incredible collection. More golden hawks than I've ever seen in one place. I was born in 1950, and they were very rarely seen on the street. Amazing cars!

My uncle had a Golden Hawk just like the one in this upload. It had the supercharged 289 in it, too. On the highway the car was simply incredible!
