The characters are not supposed to be likeable. thats like... literally the entire point of the novel. But I do agree with your review

Great review!

I agree with almost everything you said...and still gave it 5 stars lol. This book is definitely not for everyone. I cannot even explain why I love this book so much, I was so horrified by this elitist friend group and wanted to be a part of it at the same time.

I think the Secret History is for readers who are into #aesthetics just a little bit too much if I'm being honest.

You didn"t get the point of the book. I only got it after the second reading. It's structured like a Greek tragedy, which is what the book is, sort of. You are not supposed to like any of the characters, although they have some likeable traits.

Yeah I found everyone a little different. But I liked the book after I completed it. It had a sense of mystery in it which kept me glued to it. After I completed it, the story stayed in my mind for a short time but left its impact and then today when I think about it I barely remember any of it.
