This will only be attempted on a fast break and the amount of energy required to do it is not worth the effort. It’s just more energy efficient to just shoot a 3 vs running full speed to do a 3 pt lay up. Also the risk of injury from tripping/falling is not worth a lost career or missed play time.

If anybody could make a 3pt layup look easy it will be Giannis. He only shoots 30% from 3pt but leads the NBA in Dunks every season. He's was voted the most athletic player in the NBA this season and he's also 7ft tall. Let's do this Giannis!

I enjoyed the video. I agree with you except for the statement that 3-pt layups would result in no more 3-pt shots. I think the shots would continue, although perhaps they would decrease in volume overall.

Giannis would be a candidate for this. He could get that close after running and jumping from the three line, and he can't hit threes anyway. Wemby might actually do this - his arms are so long that he's half way to the hoop anyway.

Luka did that and was counted as 3 points. He jumped from beyond the arc towards the basket and landed few feet inside
