Love how sure she was Apple wouldn’t announce the Mac Pro and was willingly to put money on it.

Dead on discussion. AR is just not a realistic product right now. Apple shoild have learned from the Quest Pro.

I love that they are taping these on video now but to be honest I hate David’s blur effect, for some reason it looks unsettling to me, almost dizzying :(

The quest 2 has a 3664x1920 screen in what was a $300 headset that includes a whole computer inside it to run games. The technology would have been seen as magic like 10 years ago. Sure it isn't good enough for what we want to do with headsets yet, but acting like these are 1080p tft's or that the manufacturers should 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘭𝘶𝘭 is really dismissive.

Seems like a needlessly negative take on cool tech. Getting off the hedonic treadmill of expecting the next thing to finally be the good thing and seeing the tech we have now for how cool it really is leads to a bit more satisfaction with life in general.

Lastly the PSVR2 has been roundly praised for how good the screen is and costs $550, so companies have proven they can do a lot without the 3k price point of apples headset. Apple is going to need a lot more than a good screen to justify that price point.

1:04:21 The fact that the nerd community doesn’t understand how important the FAST industry is goes to show how disconnected the nerds are from other people

But they have to get Pixar animators to make animations for the external displays. 😅

Curious that Alex hasn't seen the Chromecast connectivity in any hotels in the US, yet. It's already a thing Android can do, so I suspect that's what's motivating Apple to make sure their users aren't left behind.

At $3000 price point this might as well be the Oculus Dev Kit, but for Apple's XROS ecosystem. I'm looking forward to the dubdub keynote on Monday as much as anyone else to see if Apple can tell a good enough story to convince people that it's time for them to get in the VR space. But if it's not time, and I would presume it's not yet time, then I see it as an early adopter's kit, especially at that price point.

On Adi's note about whether or not there will be mobile phone pairing - I don't see a world in which you can set this up, at least not easily, without an iPhone, or at least a Mac. 99% of the people who buy this will be hardcore apple fangirls who already have the newest iPhone.

Also at that price point, there's no way any normal grandma-type people are getting this to casually talk over facetime with memoji.

PLEX has a “Watch Together” option, if they start developing for VR again, that’d be a dope way to watch stuff together

if you want to see if it's worth an upgrade, you look at the games.
Asgard's Wrath 2 and Assassin's Creed VR together with other upcoming games makes Quest 3 worth an upgrade.

Sooo... Anyone else thinks David Pierce is trying to replace Nilay? I can't quite put my finger on it, but the guy is giving me suspicious vibes...
