A lot of new players are gonna jump into the series with 5, so i felt it appropriate to make something like this to help them grasp the basics.

Always felt like the way to make everyone happy with exceed: have a purchaseable skill that makes red queen flash or something visual when it's the right moment. Make it expensive enough that you have to really earn it but not so overpriced that you won't be able to buy it til near the end of the game.

The players who wanna go on pure skill never have to touch it, the players who are wanting to learn can use it as a tool to help them.memorize the timing, and the people not interested or wanting their hand held can leave it on

The timing for instant exceeding is much more lenient in this game than in 4.

EX-ACTing isnt done just as the sword makes contact, its done just as the attack ends. MAX-ACT will be done on just frame contact.

The timing window is hard for some because they are doing it too soon. For example: The timing for high roller isnt until just before Nero starts descending. It's also after the last hit of multi hitting inputs.

This is good way to explain to the people who are new in the franchise. I've been playing Devil May Cry games for only 8 years and let me tell ya, nobody can master it immediately but of course you still need *motivation* and we all highly encourage players to do Sexy Combos.

I would have added that you can also exceed off of air taunt and ground one where sticks Red Queen in the ground. The air one is also good for not wasting one of the charge shots.

I recently played a little bit of DMC4 and the DMC5 Demo, and the exceed mechanics are less difficult to pull of on DMC5 than they were in DMC4!
This game already deserves an SSS!😈💜🖤😈

I just bought the game (special edition) from a PS store sale.

To be honest, this is not my first DmC game, I played DmC 3rd but I played it casually on and off way back. I hope I can master the combos on this game.

The timing for Max-Act is very strict, if you don't get it perfect, you'll still only charge one instead of three
