The cost of maintaining the weapons is nowhere near the human cost of an unmaintained army like the Russian one.

$200, 000 per minute seems about the correct price to keep other countries from touching our boats. Do not play with our boats.

Phalanx CIWS isn't used against Third World pirates. It's the last line of defense against a missile attack.

We spend in the ballpark of 100 million AN HOUR, EVERY hour, 365 days a year.

Given the cost of building a ship, and given the time it takes to build a ship, the cost per round to save a ship is a bargain. War is expensive.

if you, like me, have a kid in the navy, the cost of the ammo is irrelevant if it means my kid comes home, alive, not in a box.

M240B you say 7.62 correct but then add 50 caliber? It is not 50 Caliber 4:15

We develop and SELL a lot of armament. To all our partners and a few not so friendly. A lot of jobs in play.

I used to hate our military budget. With what I see coming up on the horizon up it. At the least the cost of my ammo will go down.

A wake up call for US strategist mind . Ukraine is an example by using a cheap drone, averages from $500 to a thousand, but its very effective as compares to the cheapest missile costs around $1, 000.000 dollars from Ú .

Just because China says it only spends 236 billion doesn't mean that it is absolute. Many 'experts' believe they actually spend as much as double this amount without necessarily reporting it because... well, because it's China. Combine that with the PPP (purchasing power parity) and their budget is very similar to ours if not even more. Oh, and much of it is crap as allies who purchase the systems are discovering...😁

7.5$ per day per US citizen... Unless my math is wrong 😂

You’re only discussing the discretionary budget, not the entire amount we spend on defense. Leases on foreign bases and long term funding for weapons development allocated in previous budgets, VA and pension etc are part of another category altogether.

Finland is a small country, but can if needed have a million soldiers in forests. We are not going anywhere, but coming here can be difficult indeed.

Every time I hear someone mention The Netherlands they highlight Denmark on the map. Is this some kind of meme?

One carrier deployment represents one of the most powerful war entities in the world. One.

There is no effort to reduce the cost of these and other weapons, plus the military adds everything under the Sun to each weapon system. We should be able to trim a third of our budget and still have a superior military.

1:06 yes 2 plane carriers are more important and stronger than 30 patrol boat and 15 missile cruisers.

20 missiles in 14 subs = 280 missiles, not 240 😋
