That neutral after a pull gave me cringe. As a fact, after a pull, would be ideal to remove as much heat the engine produced as possible. Coolant do that with flow. Basically you are starving the engine of coolant to cool down at idle. Ideal would be 2.5k - 3.5k rpms with engine brake (no throttle).
Also, after a pull theoretically you are fast. What you DONT want to do is put the car out of gear and let it roll loose. Any wobble or weight transfer would be nasty. Shift it to 5th or 6th and let it roll a while. Fix both problems.
