I find the median price to be much more useful than average in doing these comparisons. For example if every atari game went down in value a full dollar, but the 10 most expensive games all doubled in price, the average would still go up even though that doesn't represent the condition of the market.

i love that he says that he is sorry for only picking 33 consoles but most people only collect for xbox playstation and nintendo it is rare to people with sega, it nice that he picks those unpopplar consoles.

Nice video. For future ones like this it'd be nice if the difference was presented as percentage change as opposed to just a numerical dollar amount. That would make it easier to extrapolate to other game prices that don't directly correspond to the given prices.

Here in Europe, I see a split: what are perceived to be "unique" collectors' items (even if it's just a complete-in-box version of a common game), vs. what are perceived to be "fungible" cartridges. I assume that dimorphism is going to continue to evolve.

7:40 The page still specifies "average loose price" in the top left. So unfortunately those prices might be for disc only.

It's funny the metal music intro to be followed by a guy who looks like your local tax accountant.

For sure the rise of ODEs for disc based systems I think definitely have helped keep prices of those systems at a same level, these devices definitely have come a long way wince 5 or 6 years ago

I myself am highly interested in making my PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast and the like ODE equipped systems, I love the idea of having 100s of games ready to play on OG hardware

Good video awkward covid ridden video game nerd type guy 👍🏻

Most of these price drops can be put down to a Covid rally followed by a correction. Also, the top 5-10% of a console library would be more interesting as these are the games are most interested in.

Biggest surprise on this list for me was the genesis. It seemed like those prices were going up so much. But that could be just complete in box ones. Great video and great information

From what I see retro games are going down in price depending which consoles like Ps1 they are but Nintendo GameCube is still crazy. Cool video. ^_^

You could bring up the N64 weirdness with JJ at Pricecharting. He responds to emails and fixes any issues that he can.

Hi, I assume this video and the data in it are based on US EBay sales ?! Is there an equivalent price chart for UK prices ?
Many thanks
