Halo 5 had the CE style Hunter guns (CE hunters had a single shot unlike the added beams in later games)

In Halo 2, there is a skull that u can activate that can allow every weapon to fire a sort of 'scarab gun'

Im just pointing this out. You can safely get down with scarab gun. Using the halo 2 scarab gun banshee method. Or you can use rocket marine AUP. Use the pelican to fly up to the location.

A cool way they could do the hunter cannon would be to make it so you can pick it up but it would still be attached to the hunter so you would use it more like a turret than a weapon

Imagine a unsc domesticating the worms and humans being able to "wear" them together with hunter armor and you basically become a hunter.

It is not an Official HALO game or so but there is SPV3. A fan made HALO game with modified HALO combat evloved Campaigns. You can use them in the Main game since it was programmed to in SPV3. Its a Nice game and you should try it if you didnt play. Also you can dual wield weapons there and its a bit harder. And Assault Rifle under barrel grenade launchers...
