The latest TWIST in the new Cleveland Browns Stadium saga: Dome is going to Brook Park

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb made his proposal to Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy & Dee Haslam last week. Now the Haslams have responded and everything seems to point to the Browns moving to Brook Park and creating a Browns World!

The day before Mayor Justin Bibb publicly released Cleveland's latest proposal to the Browns for renovating the existing stadium on the lakefront—a contribution of $461 million to the $1-billion-plus project—and asked the Haslams to respond by Aug. 12, the team welcomed officials from Brook Park for a series of meetings at Browns headquarters in Berea.

Starting at one o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, roughly a dozen officials from the suburb convened in a series of small groups in a conference room at 76 Lou Groza Blvd., itching to entertain the Haslam Sports Group's plans for the future of Cleveland Browns Stadium a few miles south of Cleveland.

By 4 p.m. that day, many had walked away with an answer crystal clear from their point of view: The Haslams are all but likely to pursue that 176 acres of land in Brook Park and a new dome over renovating the current stadium on the lakefront.

In a perfect world a retractable dome in downtown Cleveland. I don't see it but Bookpark has a ideal location and enough land.

I live in Las Vegas. NATURAL GRASS NO RETRACTION and UNLV also uses the facility for their games and recruiting. The A's will be playing where the Tropicana hotel was right on the strip. All year round the Dome has events going on.

State of Ohio are also building and updating the Cleveland Hopkins Airport 3 billion dollars. Cleveland Browns and Hopkins Airport can work together. To make sure that the airport can connect to Cleveland Browns new stadium.

Jay's spot on here. I live in STL now. the Cardinals ballpark now has massive bars where you can purchase day tickets in, butted up against the stadium, high rise luxury apartments that can see into the stadium, roof top bars doing the same, down the street is the new MLS stadium and guess what they built? bars and luxury apartments. They're all getting their money outside the stadium walls. Jimmy wants property rights, not whats best for the fans

Would be nice to have the Super Bowl in Cleveland. Build the Dome.

Building a dome in brook park does a lot for Cleveland. The venue can be used year round. State championship games could be played there. No interruptions for the browns during construction. Once the dome is done they can do something nice where the old building currently is.

Plenty of land sitting empty on 72nd street and it sits right on a freeway exit

Raiders have a retractable grass field that they roll in for games, then roll back outside. It weighs something like 9.000 TONS. Players want to play on grass, it's better for them, fewer injuries and it's better for the fans. NFL should eliminate all artificial turf fields.

Haslams are worth 13 billion I'm sure they can afford to pay for it out of pocket.

Build the dome! 25 years ago I would say we are a cold weather team. We play in the elements. But now I 52 with some health conditions. I like to enjoy a game with out getting sick for a week...

I really hate explaining this. Socialism and capitalism are economic policies. Communism and Democracy are forms of government. The USA was a socialist democracy from 1945 to 1981. Socialism is a closed system. If you tax everyone at 100%, and give everyone the same income, that's socialism. Nobody will argue this. From 1945 to 1981, all income over $200, 000 was taxed at 90%. Tax policy subsidized demand by taxing supply. This is important because the late 1800s was unregulated capitalism. JP Morgan, Rockefeller, Carnagie, etc...underpaid their workers for profits. Workers couldn't afford the products. Layoffs for profits. 40% unemployment. Trickle down economics is this...with government debt. The only reason Communism failed is forced markets vs free markets. You buy potato because only choice is potato. You buy EV because only choice is EV. Democracy without free markets also fails.

How much money does Jimmy need? He's a billionaire. Money grubber. This doesn't put any money in pockets of fans but takes from them. First Energy stadium is about to go down in history as the only NFL stadium to NEVER host a playoff game. Think about that. Never. How about a new stadium after a playoff game in Cleveland. Win the division. Worst sports franchise history since 1999.

Even with this so called lakefront makeover there is nothing sustainable about the lakefront. The stadium was 298 mil to build to bring browns back, they offered 460 mil around there. Come on thats a joke. Now there was a guy that did a design of a dome on the lakefront but its just difficult to be sustainable in downtown cleveland.
