own me [Mo Dao Zu Shi / Wei Wuxian]

Probably the hardest AMV I’ve ever made – both technically and psychologically. I’m not 100% happy with the outcome and feel completely drained, but this character and his story deserve tons of appreciation. It’s worth getting tired. Hope to make smth lighter and action-like with this anime soon, though :)

I can't bring myself to blame him for using dark magic, poor baby suffered in silence his whole life only to be shunned and killed by his brother, and then brought back to life against his will, the fact that in the beginning he literally says "I wish I was still dead" kills me inside

Damn. *Damn.* That is one quality edit. I've never heard this song before, but the way the clips and cuts hit the beats on top of that almost mechanical drone of the voice gave me goosebumps. This is incredible!!

I keep coming back to this, especially the 'Wei Wuxian' 'Lan Wangji' part, its so perfectly times with the music and that scene in particular is just so heartbreaking, , , but I love this edit so much words can't express it its so perfect and out of this world

I've watched this a million times since it came out. It's still the best mdzs amv I've seen. Wei Ying is in my top 3 favorite characters of all time. If he had just a moment to actually think about everything, I don't think he would have survived as long as he did. He was just trying to do the best he could. You really want to believe him when he says he's in control. He's just different now because who wouldn't be? I've rewatched the anime and drama a couple of times and it's obvious to me now that he wasn't and he really can't see it because he's just trying to survive, and it's so tragic. His reward at the end of all of it was Lan Zhan, and he deserves it.

Even though the donghwa is shorter and cuts out a lot of details as well as censors, I rly like it cuz of the way it presents certain things, like than scene with Jin Ling and Wei Ying where Wei Ying talks abt Ling's parents and introduced himself as his uncle. I think it also demonstrates the Yiling Patriarch's powers in a more impressive way since the flashbacks are compressed and he's not being weird with LWJ, but that's just imo
