FAQ's
Q: My Key Cap will not click down in place correctly. Whats wrong?
A: If the key assembly is not installing correctly, its either due to a component being damaged and needing to be replaced or a component not being orientated correctly. I would remove the key assembly and check for damage. If damage is found, replace the assembly. If no damage is found or you are unsure, try to install again. For help with the orientation, I sometimes remove another key cap, and compare the hinge clip to the one I'm trying to install. If you cant install after several tries, the key assembly is most likely damaged and needs to be replaced.
Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?
Q: I have a Key or Keys that are not working. Will this fix them?
Q: The hinge clip came apart into two pieces. How can I reassemble?
A: They fit together with a small plastic pin on the left and right of the inner clip. These fit into holes on the outer clip. To see exactly how the inner clip sits in the outer clip, remove another key cap and copy the clip under it.
Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.

Thank you for this video it saved my money. I was planning to visit service center to get my ThinkPad repaired. My space bar was not working and after I removed and cleaned it and put it back, its working absolutely fine.

My spacebar suddenly felt really blobby and wouldn't go back upward right after being pressed. This vid helped a lot :') turns out the metal part was a lil bit off and now it's fixed

My space key got sticky and wouldn't click as it used to thanks to me and my spilled juice... This is surprisingly easy but you have to be really, really careful with it is because I broke the key plastic in two... Luckily, the metal strings allowed me to snap it back anyway so the crack isn't visible that much... Telling this just for as a precaution to the next person brave enough to fix it's own keyboard.. Thank you for a good explanation. I was trying to figure out why my space key wasn't responding on the left side and it was probably a large amount of accumulated dust and dirt. So I fixed that and snapped everything back into place. When I was removing the space bar, one of the plastic attachments decoupled from the keyboard and not the cap, but I was able to remove it from the cap and install it on the keyboard. It appears to function properly.

The problem I have now is that the space bar does not spring back up after pressing it. The space bar works, but it no longer elevates after pressing it like it used to (and all the other keys continue to do, even a letter key I fixed). Could you please provide some suggestions on what I may have done wrong and how to fix this?

Thx, wouldn't have thought of the screwdriver. Mine was not triggering, I took it off with your techniques and put it back on and it was perfect.
