Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a 45-hour-long meditation at the Dhyan Mandapam in Kanniyakumari, the historic site where Swami Vivekananda meditated in 1892. His spiritual retreat began on May 30 after offering prayers at the Bhagavathi Amman temple and traveling by ferry to the rock memorial. PM Modi performed 'Surya Argya' at sunrise the following day and continued his meditation. On June 1, he performed similar rituals, wrote a message dedicating his life to the nation's service, and paid floral tributes at the statue of Tamil saint-poet Thiruvalluvar. Modi's meditation coincided with the conclusion of the Lok Sabha polls, echoing his past spiritual journeys, such as his 17-hour meditation at Kedarnath in 2019 and his visit to Pratapgarh in 2014, thereby reinforcing his image as a leader deeply connected to India's spiritual heritage.
