Disappearing 9 patch variation

This is a new type of disappearing 9 patch. There's a slicing element to it but then it's built as a nine patch again.

Don't forget to trim the first 4 pieces as shown on the video.

I noticed that you iron your seams open...that seems to be a thing that a lot of people are doing now... of course unless you’ve been doing it all along? Some have said that it’s ok as long as you shorten your stitch length, but some have said it doesn’t matter. What are your thoughts on this?
