Stensen's Duct Salivation Superzoom - Where Saliva Comes From

Показать описание
There are 4 major salivary glands that produce spit in the mouth: a pair of parotid glands located in the cheeks and a pair of submandibular glands located under the tongue. The video shown here depicts spit coming out of Stensen's Duct which is connected to the parotid gland.

Located in the upper cheek near upper molars, this duct opening is larger than Wharton's Duct which is located under the tongue.

Mine aren’t nearly as protruding as the one shown in this video, but it’s a 100% natural structure in the mouth.

Since a child, I was able to prod these ducts with my tongue and feel the tiny bubbles coming out. Thanks for the close-up shot!
